We know that things may look a little different these days, but we want you know we are here to still provide you with the best care. If you've visited us in the past you know that treating each and everyone of you as family is our number one priority. In order to keep providing excellent care we have had to make some changes. The health and safety of our patients, our team and our community is extremely important to us. Please make sure you read the information below before scheduling any appointments.
When will we re-open
The Ministry of Health has amended Directive #2 on May 26th, 2020, meaning that health care providers such as Optometrists are able to provide non-essential care again. There is an extensive list of requirements and regulations we must follow to ensure your health and safety and re-open our clinic. At this time we are doing a gradual re-opening starting on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020. This means that shortened hours will be offered, and longer appointment times will be scheduled to allow for proper disinfection.
I had an appointment booked and it was cancelled due to the pandemic...
Don't worry, we've got you covered. Our team will reach out via email, text message or phone call to reschedule your appointment. For the time being we are only rescheduling urgent follow up care, but we will be re-opening the clinic shortly to all of our patients for regular care.
Can I book my appointment online?
YES! Our online booking system is back up. Please note that the length of your appointment is scheduled for 1 hour to allow for proper disinfection between patients. Families booking back to back appointments for multiple family members will still be seen one after the other, and your appointment time may be modified to reflect that.
To ensure your safety we've made some changes to our booking process and our clinic. You will see extensive PPE, plexi-glass barriers, longer appointment slots, and a rigorous disinfection process between each patient.
Cover it up
Our team will be wearing extensive PPE to ensure your safety, however, we require your help to ensure our safety as well. This means that all patients are required to wear their own mask or face covering to enter the clinic. Exceptions will be made for children under the age of 2. If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask you must let our staff know before your appointment.
Questions, questions and more questions
You will be screened over the phone before your appointment, and again at the time of your appointment. We want to remind you that if you answer YES to any of the following your appointment will need to be rescheduled for a different day:
Do you currently have ANY of the following symptoms:
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
General feeling of illness
Have you tested positive for COVID-19 or have you been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual in the past 14 days?
Have you traveled outside of the provide in the past 14 days?
Are you coming in because one of your eyes are red?
All patients will be required to sanitize their hands upon entering the clinic. Please do not bring gloves to the appointment, as this only carries outside germs in, instead we ask that you sanitize your hands as soon as you enter. There will be sanitizer available, or you are welcome to wash your hands in the washroom.
No Visitor Policy
We get it, you want to bring your friend, partner, or family member with you to help you pick out frames, or just for an outing. However, at this time we are only allowing the patient to enter the clinic, all others accompanying you must wait outside (in the car, or they can go for a walk in Streetsville). Small children may be accompanied by 1 parent only. If you are scheduling appointments for multiple family members, each will have to wait their turn outside until we call you in. This means that if you are scheduling 3 kids, only 1 child and a parent will be allowed in at a time. All parents must also wear their own mask to enter the clinic. We would be happy to set up a phone call to go over the results with you and a loved one if you want an extra set of ears.
Please Enter Through The Front Doors
We do have 2 doors, one at the front (right on Queen Street South), and one in the back from our parking lot. Please enter through the front door for your appointment.
We love it when you're extra early, but we ask that you wait in your car or go for a walk and only enter the clinic 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. Due to the extra time that is required for sanitization between patients we ask that you are on time for your appointment, late patients may be rescheduled.
Did you know that one of the signs of COVID-19 is a red eye? Don't be offended if you call to schedule an appointment for a red eye and our team lets you know that the doctor will call you first. We may in this case only need to do a phone or virtual consultation to help you.
